🎃 Halloween Tips to Keep Your Pup Safe & Happy

Halloween is one of our favourite times of the year! The decorations, the treats, the costumes! But while we’re loving the spooky fun, our pups might be wondering what on earth is going on. 👀

Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Here are our top Halloween safety tips for dogs to make sure your furry bestie stays safe, comfy, and cute all night long.

🍫 1. Keep the Human Treats Away

As much as we’d love to share, human sweets are a big nope for dogs. Chocolate, raisins, and anything with xylitol (a sugar substitute) can be toxic.

Keep your candy stash high up or sealed away, and treat your pup to a dog-safe snack instead like a pumpkin biscuit or one of their favourite chews.

🦇 2. Costumes Are Cute… But Comfort Comes First

Dog costumes are adorable, but not every pup loves wearing them. Always check that there’s room to walk, sit, and wag comfortably, it’s breathable, and free from tight straps or dangling bits they could chew.

If your dog isn’t into dressing up, no worries, a festive Mylo and Mas Pom Necklace adds just the right touch of Halloween flair without any stress. 🧡

🕯️ 3. Watch Out for Decorations

Candles, string lights, and glowing pumpkins look fab but they can be dangerous for curious dogs.

Use battery-operated candles instead of real ones, and keep cords tucked away to avoid any accidents (or surprise chew sessions).

🚪 4. Trick-or-Treating Can Be a Lot

Between the costumes, doorbells, and knocks, Halloween night can feel like chaos for pups.

Set up a cosy chill-out spot in another room with their bed, toys, and maybe a bit of calming music. If your dog gets really anxious, you could give out sweets from outside or leave a full bowl outside to avoid the doorbell drama.

🐕 5. Make Sure Your Dog’s ID Tag Is On

With doors opening and closing all evening, even the best-behaved dogs can slip out in the excitement. A collar with an up-to-date ID tag is super important.

🍬 6. Do a Post-Halloween Sweep

When the spooky fun is over, have a quick look around your home and garden for stray sweets, wrappers, or decorations your pup might try to nibble.

Halloween doesn’t have to be scary for our furry friends, just keep things calm, safe, and full of love (and treats of the dog-safe kind).

Happy Howl-o-ween!
